Key Concepts:

Infrared Sensor - constructed with a combination of the following components:

1. IR Emitter (LED)
2. IR Receiver (Photodiode)
3. Op-Amp (Comparator)
4. Potentiometer

Motor driver - this is what decides the direction and speed at which the connected motor spins.  In this case, each IR sensor output is used for the input to the respective motor driver.
